Jim Ziglar
Ruling Elder
Jim Ziglar has been at Emmanuel
since moving back to New York in July, 2001,
and has been an elder since 2003. Currently,
Jim oversees the church's discipling/accountability
ministries and financial operations (although
Cheu does all the real work), in addition to
leading and hosting a Home Fellowship Group
with his wife, Louisa. Prior to Emmanuel, he
was a member in a large church in Dallas where
he was a Sunday School teacher and discipled
a number of men.
Professionally, Jim is an
investment banker, and has also spent 6-1/2
years in management and marketing consulting.
During
his semi-nomadic life, he has lived in New
York, the Washington DC area (where he was
born and raised), Phoenix, New Haven, Miami,
Philadelphia and Dallas.

FT Chong
Ruling Elder
FT was born in Malaysia in 1956 and became a believer about 16 years ago. At the time he was attending Redeemer Presbyterian Church here in New York. His family and he joined EPC in 2006.
In 1992/3, he received training
in hospital chaplaincy and served at Memorial
Sloan Kettering (MSK). He also led a ministry
group at Redeemer that conducted monthly Sunday
worship services at DeWitt Nursing Home and
at MSK. When his family moved to Indonesia
for work in 1994, he and his wife, Karen joined
about 6 other families to start a new church
(Jakarta International Christian Fellowship)
that has since grown into one of the largest
English language congregations in Jakarta.
He had the opportunity to participate in the
leadership group at that church. Returning
to New York, he served as a ruling elder of
the session at Redeemer and Karen was a deaconess.
As an EPC elder, FT hopes
to be helpful to the staff, pastors and the
congregation--most
of all he would like to be in the position
to encourage and help other EPC members to
play official and non-official leadership
roles at the church.

Emmanuel Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America. We believe in the historic Christian faith as summarized is the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. We call ourselves "Emmanuel" (god with us) because we believe that Jesus' substitutionary death and poured out Spirit have brought God near. God's nearness brings life to all that we do – to our worship, our friendships, our families, our thought life, our studies, and our work. We embrace Emmanuel's love for the city and seek to share his beauty, truth, healing and goodness with the communities where we live and work, particularly the communities of Morningside Heights.
